【素材】透明レジン / [Materials] Transparent Resin

昨年の暮れにお会いした作家先生に分けて頂いた透明レジンを試してみました。調色しての挑戦でしたが、出来は上々。配分はシビア目、効果時間は冬で2日半から3日、粘度が高いので希望が残りやすい為に扱いが難しいですが、効果すると非常に透明度の高い塊になります。一般的なレジンよりも硬化で、研磨を試みましたが結構な苦労。リューターを使用すると熱で表面が荒れるので、手作業となりますが、根気さえあれば行けそうです。原型を鏡面仕上げにすれば幾らかは仕上げ処理が楽になりそう。もう少し勉強してみます。

Tried out a new transparent resin given to me by an established artist I met last December. Challenged myself to color the resin and the result is promising. A bit stringent on the formula-side, takes 2 to 3 days to solidify and due to its viscosity, hard to avoid bubbles, but the resulting piece is crystal clear. A bit hard compared to other resins so buffing it is a biof work. A smoother mold might do the trick and make the finishing up easier. I'll try it a couple of more times to get used to it.
